Fuji star Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, better known as K1 De Ultimate, has apologised over the ValueJet incident at Abuja airport on Tuesday.
In a statement on Friday, K1 said the flask he carried that day contained only water, not alcohol, as some reports claimed. He explained that he suffers from chronic dehydration and always carries water on medical advice.
K1 apologised to the Presidency, the Ministry of Aviation, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, the NCAA, ValueJet, and Nigerians. He described the incident as unfortunate and said it was never his intention to cause any disruption or break aviation rules.
The drama unfolded when K1 was deboarded from a ValueJet flight and later attempted to stop the aircraft from taking off. The Federal Government has since placed him on a six-month no-fly list, and the pilots involved have been suspended.
